electronic beats and spoken word

A week to go until our next event!

We’ve got a wonderful, inspiring truly talented line up of 9 artists and performers coming along to feature on the night AND an open mic!

One of the featured artists at In Words is StocknSkins.

A local band that skillfully fuse together spoken word and electronic bass…how cool?! We’re so privileged to have them performing and can’t wait to see what they’ve got in store for us!

Their “rhythmic post – punk” approach allow them to be unique in their own way taking on the challenging of combining the need to express words and opinions simultaneously with electronic bass and beats.

They believe supporting all local artists, gigs and nights is so important in bridging the gap between local and national

performers. Saying they want to help reduce the *“huge void between grass roots music and platforms that can actually make things change”.

We totally agree.

One of the big things around uis’s platform is community and sharing the voices, stories and experiences of people in OUR community. Local movements, actions and performances are more impactful to the local scene rather than the national art creative scene.

So now your in love with StocknSkins make sure your come along to In Words on the 26th February at Bournemouth University from 6pm til 9pm.

See you there!
