disability & mental health campaigner

"Hi I’m Chandy a disability & mental health campaigner with a passion for showing anyone that anything is achievable with the right belief in ourselves and others. I’ve always been told to limit myself because of my disability. But now I’m on a mission to inspire people through positive mindset and show that being different doesn’t make you any less of a person"

Chandy has spoken at Parliament and at Cambridge University about his journey as a brain tumor survivor and is due to return to Cambridge next month. He was nominated for the Community Star Award under the Rock Star Awards and won. He is a such a huge inspiration to all and that's why I wanted him to speak at union in speech's first event In Words.

Also earlier this year Chandy featured on Radio One's Life Hacks Podcast talking about his OCD which you can check out here: https://www.bbc.co.uk/programmes/p07dckr5

Something we can all learn from Chandy is that we are all different and unique in our own ways and that shouldn't mean we are weird or 'not normal' and in his words. We are all "different NOT deficient" and I agree 100% with him. We should embrace our differences and showcase them to the world not feel embarrassed by them.

Follow Chandy's socials and support him on his journey!
